Federal Funding Updates

This site provides important information and updates from federal agencies that impact the Purdue University research enterprise.

Your resource for the latest information and updates

The site, developed and managed by the Executive Vice President for Research and Sponsored Program Services, includes timely information and guidance on what actions researchers should take during periods when the U.S. government administration or U.S. federal agency leadership are going through periods of transition.

PI Special Instructions

Special Notice – If you receive a questionnaire from any agency, please forward it to spsopers@groups.purdue.edu with a copy to avpsps@purdue.edu. SPS will coordinate a response with each principal investigator.

Agency Communications:

  • Forward agency communications, directives, questionnaires, certifications or requests for attestations on your current and pending awards to your Post Award administrator with a copy to spsopers@groups.purdue.edu.
  • Before implementing new federal directives or policy changes, consult your assigned Post Award administrator to ensure compliance.
  • As a reminder, contractual documents, certifications and other binding documents must be executed by Sponsored Program Services on behalf of the institution.

No-cost extensions:

Some agencies are rethinking their practice of granting no-cost extensions for active awards.  Please consider this as you plan your project activities.  You are encouraged to fully utilize the time remaining in your existing period of performance to maximize results.

NIH is requiring all no-cost extension requests to be reviewed.  No automatic extensions are being granted.
